Good to know

We divide the cash price by the points it costs to get the value of each point. Higher is better. At 1.5¢ or more a stay is Exceptional, from 1.0¢ it is Great, from 0.7¢ Fair, and below that we say pay cash.

Compare the same room for the same dates, and include taxes and fees in the cash price: award stays usually don’t charge room tax, so leaving it out understates what points save you.
